To start off the spring, Julian and I decided to go for a trip to Italy to discover places we’ve been dying to visit for quite some time. So today, our Italy travel series in a sustainable outfit starts with Venice, also including a short video {watch it at the end of the article}! On our first day, we wanted to visit Venice camera-free to fully enjoy our first views of the city (here was my look on day one). It was an early Sunday morning when we met our wonderful friend, Emilia, at Piazzale Roma who was kind enough to take us into the empty streets. In just a few seconds, I was spellbound by the magical atmosphere of the narrow calle (streets) and rii (canals). She brought us to the famous Pasticceria Tonolo for an original breakfast experience. It is a traditional place where you pick up a few pastries, you grab a coffee (if you say coffee, it will be an espresso) and enjoy it the Venetian way: standing up at the bar. There are no tables or chairs.
On our second day, I was wearing this sustainable outfit sporting some of my favourite eco and fair brands like Armedangels and Freitag. This Armedangels top is made of GOTS certified organic cotton, these Freitag trousers are made of 50% linen & 50% modal {100% biodegradable after removing the button}, and this Freitag bag is made of used truck tarpaulins & PET lining. See my Armedangels selection below and recreate a similar look.

We enjoyed wandering the streets of wisteria-covered facades. Our favourite district was Dorsoduro, a quieter neighbourhood away from the touristic bustle. I would recommend dining at Osteria da Codroma.
Another fantasy-like quarter is Castello where you could find a sustainable shop at Campo Santa Maria Formosa 5248 A, with mindful brands such as Freitag and L:A Bruket. (The shop seems to have no name).

We were a bit reluctant about taking a ride in a Gondola because we usually stay away from touristic attractions, but it was completely worth it. You get another point of view of Venice and after walking around all day, it was relaxing to let yourself lulled by the water, it’s part of the magic.
And the coincidence! Our initials were on our gondola: M & J.
